3 Red Light Fix Review

So you have just been playing your favourite game on your Xbox 360, and then all of a sudden your screen either goes blank, or even more weird, in my case a black and white checker pattern appears. You then look down at your console and see the Xbox 360 three red lights scenario, or more commonly known as the red ring of death. Been one of the worst Xbox 360 problems, what everybody wants is a way of
1. Curing the problem
2. Making sure it never happens again.

 
The reason for the three red lights is simple, you have a hardware failure and this is due to one or  two pieces of hardware over heating so much that they coarse a permanent fault on your Xbox.
What you want is an Xbox 360 repair guide, and there is no better way of following a guide than watching high defininition step by step video tutorials. This is what James Dean has done in his guide, and I have listed the videos below as part of my 3 red light fix review.

• The first video shows you exactly how to disassemble the Xbox 360 case, by showing you where all the hidden release panels and tabs are. This is truly helpful because in all honesty I did not know where to start with this.

• Video 2 shows you the next step of your Xbox 360 fix, by explaining how to remove the brain of your Xbox, the motherboard. You will have to remove the full motherboard out of the case by carefully removing all the correct nuts and bolts.

• The next video goes into detail about the infamous x – clamps, what their purpose is, and how to remove them for preparation of your mod. This video also shows you how to remove both heat sinks the one on top of your GPU and also the one on top of the CPU.

• Videos 4 and 5 show you the professional way of how to clean off the cheap thermal paste, and reapply the new thermal paste in the safest ad also the cleanest way. There is a detailed explanation of the do’s and don’ts in this process.

• Now in video 6 this shows you the good stuff, this is the start of your mission to perform the Xbox 360 repair, the video shows you how to carry out the main modification of the x – clamps, in other words get rid of them and replace them with your cheap fixings that you bought from your local hardware store.

• The last two videos are the best bits in my eyes, the 7th video shows you how to carry out a test once you have made your modification. The video simply shows you how to heat up the Xbox to a certain temperature in order to melt the old solder (that the manufacturer put in there for some stupid reason),- this test once carried out will show you that your mod has worked, that your 1 hour or so work has paid off and you are now seeing lovely green lights replacing the dreaded red ring of death. One thing I will say is don’t worry about the heating up of your Xbox part, it is a precision timed process which is explained in great detail in the video also in even more detail in the PDF. By now you should be on to the final video which shows you step by step how to put it all back together.

So if you see a red light on Xbox 360 with these videos you should be well on your way to eliminating one of the most common Xbox 360 problems, also saving yourself a load of cash at the same time.

My aim was to create a James Dean 3 Red Light Fix Review and after reading the entire guide, and watching all the step by step videos , I soon found a way to conquer one of the main Xbox 360 problems. This problem is known to a lot of people as the Red Ring Of Death, which means if you’re not familiar with the term, your once green light on your Xbox has now turned into a solid three red light state. Usually or always if you have the Xbox 360 red lights you will not be able to just reset the console and start over, because this is one of the major Xbox 360 problems.

When this happened to me the first thing I did was to look for my Xbox 360 Microsoft warranty, which of coarse I could not find because I probably missed placed it when I was eagerly unwrapping my new Xbox 360 from new. When I spoke to a couple of friends of mine that I knew have had the same problem, they simply said welcome to our nightmare. One of my friends was in the same boat as me, so he ended up spending just over $140 to get a local computer store to carry out some unknown Xbox 360 fix which did work for a while. My other friend was actually able to send his Xbox 360 red lights ridden console off to Microsoft, but it has actually been three weeks, nearly a month since he has heard anything from them.

When I had heard about both of my friends Xbox 360 problems, I thought sack that idea, that’s when I stumbled upon this e-book by James Dean. In his book he tells you what the red ring of death actually means. The red ring of death is displayed on the front of the Xbox basically when there is a hardware failure, in this case it is the internal GPU or the CPU that is overheating, but it is more likely to be both.

When the GPU and CPU overheat, it courses the solder underneath each piece of hardware to melt, which makes an electronic bridge under your motherboard which then, you guessed it, illuminates the Xbox 3 red light scenario. what James Dean shows you in this guide is how to make a permanent modification to your Xbox 360, you will be getting rid of the manufacturers stupid fail safe idea of using solder under the hardware, and replacing it with normal everyday bolts and washers found in almost any diy store. You will also be eliminating the problem that courses the hardware to overheat in the first place, the cheap thermal paste that has been used by the manufacturer.
